The Mounce Lab

We like viruses. We like cells, too. We study how viruses interact with the cells that they infect. When a virus gets into a cell, it uses the working parts of the cell for its own purposes. This results in a tug-of-war between virus and cell for the components necessary for life and infection. We are trying to understand how viruses use cellular components to replicate and how the cell fights back to stop viral infection.
